In the latter part of 2022, I decided that I wanted to dive back into scripture, and really wanted to study the Bible and not just simply read it. So I set out to look for a place that had some great Bible resources and I found The Daily Grace Co. They have a wide selection of Bible studies, Bibles, and Bible study resources such as journals, devotionals, and handbooks. They also carry stationery, apparel, mugs, and other fun and beautiful accessories.
I was so grateful that I found this company. The studies they create are beautiful both aesthetically and content wise. This company makes studying the Bible so enjoyable!
My very first purchase from them was a Bible, a set of Bible tabs, and their Handbook Collection.
The Handbook Collection comes with three books encased in a cloth over board slipcase with gold embossing.
The Bible Handbook
This handbook gives a summary and highlights key elements in each book of the Bible.
It opens with an introduction of the Biblical genres that are used in this handbook. Generally, the Bible is divided into 9 genres: Pentateuch/Law, History, Wisdom and Poetry, Major Prophets, Minor Prophets, Gospels, Church History, Epistles, and Prophecy. For the purpose of this handbook, the Old Testament is divided into historical narrative, wisdom literature, and prophets, while the New Testament is divided into historical narrative and epistles.
Each book is presented by an overview page on a photographed background and includes the genre of the Bible, the author, approximately when it was written, major themes, a key or main verse, and key words. After the overview, is a one page introduction on the book, followed by an outline and extra resources such as illustrations, maps, and timelines.
The Bible Themes Handbook
The Bible Themes Handbook focuses on key themes that can be found throughout the Bible.
Each theme begins with an introduction followed by a timeline of the theme in scripture, and various examples in scripture.
The Theology Handbook
The Theology Handbook gives you information on nine branches of systematic theology: Theology Proper, Bibliology, Anthropology, Christology, Soteriology, Pneumatology, Ecclesiology, Angelology, Eschatology.
Each topic has one page of information followed by an illustrative aid.
While all of the handbooks contain great information, I especially like The Theology Handbook as it brings out the excited nerd in me. Until I first opened up this handbook, I had no idea how extensive systematic theology was!
My Thoughts
I absolutely love these handbooks! I feel they are a great addition to have as Bible study resources, even if you already have a study Bible or other commentary books. Sometimes it’s also nice to have resources in a more compact form or to simply gain other insights and perspectives. I would absolutely recommend these handbooks as well as the other study resources and products that The Daily Grace Co. carries.
While this set is no longer available, as it has been retired, the individual books are presently available for purchase along with a version of The Bible Handbook that has a new cover design, and some content updates and revisions.
