Abandoning Perfection and Embracing Progress

I was using the 2024 PowerSheets from Cultivate What Matters earlier this year but quit after a few months. And not just quit it, I threw it away. I let my perfectionist tendencies of wanting to fill in all the boxes, doing too much, and making the perfect decorative layout overwhelm me. And whenever I do this, which has been quite often, I don’t like to keep the planner or the whatever thing that I quit. For me, it becomes physical clutter but more so, it becomes mental clutter. And a nagging reminder of a “failure”.

Fast forward to a few months. I can’t remember what sparked it but one day I thankfully realized what the issue was, and I can honestly say I have made progress of letting go of the “perfect” and being honest with myself in the doings that I want to do I life. Reminding myself to slow down, to not put so much on my plate, and to move on from things that no longer serve me instead trying to force myself to continue just to simply complete something.

We were hit by Hurricane Helene right before the start of October, hence all the abandonments.

And I’ve been using the Fresh Start Weekly Goal Planner for this last quarter and it has been great! It has helped me to find what truly matters to me and to stay focused on those things. The core of the PowerSheets planners is the Tending List. I love having my goals and steps for the whole month on one dashboard.

Tending list so far in November.

As one of my goals is to work on content creation, I will be making a 2025 planner stack video and blog post in the next couple of weeks. Prep week for PowerSheets is coming up on the week of December 9th and I’m thinking about doing a follow along series for that, but I haven’t decided on it yet. But here’s to gearing up for mindfully healthy 2025!
